Beauty Therapy Level 5

The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work independently in providing beauty therapy treatments in a variety of contexts and or to progress to further and or higher education and training.
 
 
We have developed and tailored our beauty therapy components to be career focused to meet the demands of a continually growing industry. This enables our learners to enter into the workplace with a high level of competence in the theory and practical elements of the relevant qualification.
 
 
It's the ideal stepping stone to working in a beauty salon or to opening your own salon.
Acquire the knowledge and skills you will need to succeed in this very popular activity as a professional or as a hobby.
 
As well as learning all about how the beauty business works, you will learn about a wide range of beauty products, equipment and treatments.
 
You will have your own, personal Beauty Therapy tutor helping you with your coursework and with any questions you may have throughout your course right through to completion.

Learners will be able to:
  • Demonstrate theoretical and practical knowledge of a range of beauty therapy treatments, techniques, products and equipment
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of the concepts and theory in relation to beauty therapies and techniques and the role of the beauty therapist
  • Utilise a range of specialised skills, techniques, products and equipment to provide beauty therapy treatments
  • Demonstrate judgement in selecting appropriate techniques in response to clients requirements
  • Apply beauty therapy skills and treatments within a range of varied and specific contexts to meet client needs
  • Exercise initiative implementing best practice in the provision of beauty therapy treatments in dealing with clients and colleagues
  • Take responsibility for own learning in a structured context
  • Reflect on personal practice to inform self understanding and personal development within the beauty industry.
 
Access:
To access programmes leading to this award the learner should have reached the standards of knowledge, skill and competence associated with the preceding level of the National Framework of Qualifications.
This may have been achieved through a formal qualification or through relevant life and work experience.
 
Progression:
Achievement of these components will enable the learner to progress to other appropriate programmes leading to awards at the next or higher levels of the National Framework of Qualifications.

 

The grading of the QQI/FETAC award is as follows:
 
Pass  -  50-64%           Merit   -  65-79%      Distinction  -  80-100%
 
The grade achieved will be determined by the grades achieved on the components

The total credit value required for this certificate is 120.

Single Component: € 240  
 
These prices do not include QQI/FETAC Certification Fees
 
 
All participants are required to take part in suitable work experience during the programme.
It is the responsibility of the learners to secure an appropriate work experience placement.
Please note: KCFE can NOT insure candidates while attending work experience.
 
 
 
Additional Information
 
All training is delivered in a friendly and comfortable training centre with experienced and dedicated tutors focusing on ensuring each trainee is given every opportunity to learn the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities in order to excel in their beauty therapy role.
