eBusiness Level 5
The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work independently and under supervision in a range of eBusiness contexts and or to progress to further and or higher education and training.
Kilmuckridge Centre of Further Education has designed these components for learners with an interest in working in the areas of eBusiness/Business sector. These components offer learners the opportunity to develop practical payroll, web design and ebusiness skills and to provide learners with a high level of proficiency in administrative, business and computer skills.
These components suits learners who wish to acquire good IT skills to assist them in their future studies.
Learners will be able to:
Demonstrate an understanding of the nature of eBusiness and how it may be used in a modern organisation.
Demonstrate specialist knowledge of eBusiness concepts and practices and an understanding of the equipment and infrastructure essential to conduct e-commerce.
Demonstrate a broad range of specialist knowledge and skills in eBusiness and in the design of a work based solution to meet the needs of a business.
Select a range of techniques and tools to generate an eBusiness solution for a client through the use of information systems and technology.
Demonstrate the ability to integrate theory and practice in an eBusiness environment taking into consideration the economic, security and legal issues which may arise.
Perform eBusiness tasks to illustrate both independent initiative and the ability to work effectively in a team based environment.
Take responsibility for own learning in a structured environment.
Apply critical reflection to gain an awareness of self development and progression towards future learning experiences.
To access programmes leading to this award the learner should have reached the standards of knowledge, skill and competence associated with the preceding level of the National Framework of Qualifications. This may have been achieved through a formal qualification or through relevant life and work experience.
Achievement of these components will enable the learner to transfer to other appropriate programmes leading to awards at the same level of the National Framework of Qualifications.
Learners who successfully complete these components may progress to a range of different awards in third level colleges.
The grading of the QQI/FETAC award is as follows:
Pass - 50-64% Merit - 65-79% Distinction - 80-100%
The grade achieved will be determined by the grades achieved on the components
Single Components Range from: €200 - €300
All participants are to take part in suitable work experience during the programme.
It is the responsibility of the learners to secure an appropriate work experience placement.
Please note: KCFE can NOT insure candidates while attending work experience.
All training is delivered in a friendly and comfortable training centre with experienced and dedicated tutors focusing on ensuring each trainee is given every opportunity to learn the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities in order to excel in their business role.
