Train the Trainer Level 6 E30179

This module is a statement of the standards to be achieved to gain a FETAC credit in Train the Trainer at Level 6.
The module is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to design, deliver, assess and evaluate training programmes.
Who should apply:
  • Individuals who have an interest in training and development and may wish to pursue it as a career.
  • Individuals who hold training and development responsibilities in organisations.
  • Individuals and teams involved in the design and delivery of training programmes.
  • Consultants who wish to gain a formal qualification in training and development. 
  • Managers and team leaders who wish to gain an insight into the systematic training process.
Learners who successfully complete this module will:
1 Understand different learning styles
2 Understand the functions and processes of learning and training
3 Evaluate different approaches to training
4 Appreciate the importance of training on an individual, social and economic level
5 Work effectively with a range of learner groups.
6 Design, deliver and evaluate training programmes
7 Develop and implement appropriate assessment methods
The specific learning outcomes are grouped into 6 units.
Unit 1  Theory of Training and Adult Learning
Unit 2  The Role of the Trainer
Unit 3  Training Needs Analysis & Programme Design
Unit 4  Preparing for Training Delivery
Unit 5  Delivery and Assessment
Unit 6  Evaluation of Training


Assessment Technique:    

Programme assessment is on a continuous basis and will require students to review theoretical concepts surrounding the systematic approach to training and apply these in practical situations.

The grading of the QQI/FETAC component is as follows:
Pass          50-64%              Merit          65-79%          Distinction     80-100%

Costing: €300    (including Administration Fee)          This price does not include QQI/FETAC Certification Fees
Duration: 10 - 12 weeks            Start Date: Monday 6th October 2014    Time: 7.00pm - 9.30pm
All participants are encourged to take part in suitable work experience/shadow tutoring
during the programme.
It is the responsibility of the learners to secure an appropriate work experience placement.
Please note: KCFE can NOT insure candidates while attending work experience.
Entry Requirements:
Limited free places available subject to eligibility criteria.
Participants must hold a Level 5 or equivalent qualification and /or have relevant life and work experience
The Kilmuckridge Centre of Further Education Programme is aimed specifically at those with ‘front-line’ responsibility for training others in organisations. Learning the basic fundamental training skills is the first step in building a successful career as an instructor/tutor. The course focuses on helping you develop those basic skills and knowledge expected of an instructor/tutor.
Component Certification:
Following successful completion Kilmuckridge Centre of Further Education will offer a FETAC component in Train the Trainer E30179 which is a Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications.

All training is delivered in a friendly and comfortable training centre with experienced and dedicated tutors focusing on ensuring each trainee is given every opportunity to learn the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities in order to excel in their educational/training role.
